Julliette's Place was opened in 1990 as Homeward Family Shelter.
It is the first women’s shelter in Toronto that was designed specifically
as a shelter. Julliette's Place (H.F.S.) is a 35-bed facility making it the
largest single shelter in operation to date.
Since 1997 the agency has legally operated as Julliette's Place in the memory
of an ex-client who was murdered by her ex-husband on May 11, 1996. The corporate
name of the agency is still Homeward Family Shelter.
